Now that the holiday season is over I am looking for healthier ways to satisfy my chocolate cravings and these raw chocolate energy bliss balls really do the trick. These are easy to make as well and I really do love creations that are easy to make. Just throw the eight ingredients into the blender, blend, and roll into balls. Trying not to eat them all at once is the hardest part!
The raw cacao powder is high in magnesium and antioxidants. Cocoa powder loses some of it’s nutrition through the roasting process so I always try and use cacao powder when I can, especially in a raw recipe.
These are gluten free, refined sugar free, and, as always, vegan. The natural caffeine from the cacao, the natural sugars from the dates, and the protein from the cashews and pea protein powder all provide the perfect, long-lasting, pick-me-up. These are way more nutritious than an energy drink or chocolate bar and way tastier in my opinion.
The bliss balls store really well in the fridge in an airtight container but I must admit they never last very long at our house anyway!
If you try this recipe I would love to see what you come up with. Tag #thejollyrabbit on social media. Enjoy!
